It is not known where she was born or lived before she married Preston. They lived in Edgecombe County, then later moved to Martin County. Henry died in Weed, California in 1909 and is buried at Cloverdale Cemetery near Creswell, Oregon; his wife has no gravestone and may be buried elsewhere. They had at least 3 children: Hannah, Thomas, and Will. Hannah was born in Ireland in 1868 and died in Michigan, Thomas was born in Michigan in 1871. Some believe that Henry was born in England." Indiana "It is believed that Sarah Miranda Bennett is from the Bennett's who came from Rowan and Ardell counties, North Carolina. A James and John Bennet/Bennette lived in Clark Co. Indiana in the 1820 and 1830 census one of them may be her father. A Miranda is mentioned along with Chloe Ann Prather in a letter written by John Hobson, of Utica twp Clark Co. Indiana. His wife, Martha was a Bennett, born 28 Aug 1803 North Carolina. Her parents were Josiah Bennett and Sarah Howard. The Bennett's also had two sons Manlius and William Calvin Bennett. They probably had other children but they have not yet been located. Joshua Bennett was also born in North Carolina. The Bennett names of Mansfield and Granville have also surfaced."
