Easter ? ? Rushing ? Georgia "I was told that my ggrandfather was 4 yrs. old when the slaves were freed and that he was born in Milledgeville, Georgia,if true that means that Easter was in or around that area before and/or during the civil war. His father name was (my sources seem unsure) Alan or Allen Rushing. In 1868 another son was born and his name was William Rushing who was said to have been born in Cordele, Georgia. I know she was living past 1905 because my grandmother who was born that year (now is 98 yrs. old but don't remember)remembers her grandmother living with them, and that must have been in Ty Ty, Georiga (grandmother's birth place)I don't know how many children she gave birth to, however I know that she had George, William and the ""baby girl"" Polly. But I'm also told that James ""(Jimmy) Mr. 5 by 5"" Rushing "" was the first cousin to my grandmother which would mean that his father was also a child? of Easter and Alan Rushing. That's all I have so far." Norma Robertson redsettler@aol.com
