"MAYNARD, Maria" 1846 "New London County, Connecticut" unknown unknown "Old Lyme, Connecticut" "According to my late uncle, he remembered Maria
(he pronounced as ""Muh-rye-ah"")helping around his
grandmother's house in Old Lyme,New London County,
Connecticut, at least until about 1910. Maria's
brother, David Otis Maynard, and his wife, Jane
Bump Maynard, had a boarding house and market in
Old Lyme until a fire destroyed both buildings in
1915, so I would think Maria might have been
helping her sister-in-law, Jane Bump Maynard, with
the boarding house.
That's all I know about her, but I think I would
have spotted her on various Census years if she
had remained unmarried, therefore retaining her
surname, MAYNARD. Any suggestions appreciated!" Karlynn OSCLS59@comcast.net
