Elizabeth Wallace 1782 Scotland or Ireland George Lute Before 1809 "Pennsylvania, Adams County, OH" We think her father was Daniel Wallace. She had a sister - no name available and a brother named Daniel. I have no name for her mother.

Descendants of Daniel Wallace

1 Daniel WALLACE b: Abt. 1760 in Ireland d: in Pennsylvania
... 2 Daniel WALLACE b: in Pennsylvania
... 2 Sister WALLACE
... 2 Elizabeth WALLACE b: 1782 in Ireland or Scotland "d: 1862 in Adams County, Ohio"
....... #NAME? "b: 1780 in Luteburg Plantation, Pennsylvania" "d: 1852 in Adams County, Ohio" "m: Bef. 1809 in Pennsylvania

There is an undocumented family legend that Elizabeth was mulatto. Also, one of Elizabeth's sisters supposedly married a Black man. Because of this George became so upset that he moved the family to Ohio. One reason for debate on the legend is that Elizabeth was born in Ireland - we think?

The possibility that her sister married a Black man is more likely to be true but many were migrating to Ohio during this time.

Historically it is very true that many Blacks, Mulatoos- people of color - migrated to Indiana and Ohio to avoid racial laws and persecution.

It makes an interesting story though.

There is the possibility that Elizabeth was living with her son John in Scioto County, Ohio at the time of her death.

"Sarah Elizabeth ""Elizabeth"" Shehorn" Abt. 1835 North Carolina? John Perry Montgomery "1850 Tarrant Cty, maybe Tennessee, Texas" "North Carolina, Texas" "This is what I have on Sarah Elizabeth. We aren't positive about the first marriage. My line descends through Montgomery.

The following are the supposed parents of Sarah Elizabeth. I have found NO proof to substantiate it.

Descendants of Clinton Red Elk

Another theory is that her father's last name was Ball, another that she went by her mother's last name of Shehorn. According to an aunt ""The only thing I know about Elizabeth Shehorn, is that my mother and grandmother said she was 'black dutch'""
